St John the Apostle is responsible for writing five books of the New Testament: the Gospel According to St John, the Three Epistles of St John, and the Revelation of Jesus Christ. He is known for bringing the Blessed Virgin to Jesus at the Cross, Who in His most painful of hours still sees to it that His mother is taken care of. St John is the only Apostle to have not been martyred (killed for the Faith), but he suffered great persecutions; even being boiled in oil. He is likely the last of the Apostles to have died.
